These skills will help them succeed at school, socially, and later, professionally and can create an appealing differentiator that sets them apart. Our lessons aim to instill social consideration and mutual respect as we believe that when children are taught these basic social skills in their early years, they tend to become more socially responsible as they grow up. To survive the rising social pressure, children must be trained in a way to feel confident and comfortable around people and to find their place in the world.   Topics Include:  The Importance of Greeting Others, Rules of Introduction, The Handshake, Eye Contact, and the Power of a Smile, Sportsmanship Etiquette, Hygiene and Appearance, Self-Respect and Respect for others, Behaving Appropriately at Other People’s Homes, Making Appropriate Conversation, Proper Telephone Etiquette, Writing Thank You Notes, and Other Modern Manners.  If attending Summer Fun, Counselors will meet your child at the end of class and walk them to Summer Fun.

Have you ever walked into a room, and “felt” a presence or bad feeling?  Were you ever thinking of someone and then they called you on the phone? You have the capability to “tune in” to energy. Objects and places can have an "energy" that retain a memory. Learn psychometry (from the Greek words psyche, "soul" and metron, "measure"), a technique in which a person can divine or "read" the energy of an object (e.g. ring, necklace, watch) through touch: receiving images, sensations, words - even emotions. Novices and more advanced students are welcome. This class is designed to sharpen and fine-tune your own psychic intuitive ability; which is great fun in our gathering of like-minded people. See your own ability at work, and learn the answer to, “What ‘type’ of psychic are you?” Jenny has trained with Dr. Brian Weiss (as seen on Oprah) in Past Life Regression, as well as Sylvia Browne in Healing and Psychic Development; her psychic abilities have been validated by Sylvia Browne (as see on Larry King Live) and James Van Praagh (creator of Ghost Whisperer).  As heard on WBZ News Radio’s Jordan Rich Show, Jenny’s guided meditation CD, “State of Grace,” is available now at www.jennymetevia.com.

The Carlisle Family Connection (CFC) is a volunteer-run community group that provides resources, activities, and support for families with children five years of age and under. The program offers an annual cycle (September to August) of family events and playgroups. Participation in the CFC is a wonderful way to get to know fellow families in Carlisle with young children!

Registration

The best way to make sure you don't miss any opportunities with the CFC is to sign up! The registration fee is $36 per household per annual cycle. The registration fee covers admission to all events and participation in playgroups for all family members. All registrants will be included in announcements emailed by the Carlisle Recreation Department regarding the CFC. Registering early allows CFC volunteers to budget accordingly for a fun-packed year.

Events

Events include seasonal parties, educational programs, concerts, and outdoor activities. Events are organized by volunteers within each playgroup and are tremendous fun for the kids attending them.

Previous events have included:  Fall Kick off Event, Wash a Fire Truck, New Baby Brunch, Pumpkin Painting, Halloween Party, Holiday Party, Valentine's Day Party, Meet up at BB Kidz Klub, Footnotes Family Concert, Spring Egg Hunt, Police & Safety Event, Old Home Day Rest Stop, End of Season Picnic at Great Brook, Clark Farm Guided Visit, Clark Farm Market meetups, Parents’ Night Out, and all-age Summer Playgroup Meetups.
